Niramaya Health Foundation (NHF) works on three components of population i.e. Children, Mothers, and Adolescents. Along with its health and nutrition program, it also address related social issues such as addiction, gender inequalities which affect health and nutrition of individuals.  Their vision is to ensure a disease-free childhood for a healthy and responsible adulthood.  Their twin missions are to fight for an anaemia free world for the children of India, and to sensitize adolescents on their reproductive rights and sexual health.

Main programmes include:

  • Project Swasthya: It focusses on creating a health ecosystem that is responsive, affordable, and equitable, and which provides quality preventive, promotive, and curative primary healthcare for the poor. Children up to 10 years are being supported under child health and nutrition program. Anemia detection and reduction program, menstrual health and hygiene management program and Life skills education programs are being organized for adolescents. Maternal Health and Nutrition program is being carried out to reduce pregnancy related complications by early identification and management of high risk pregnancies as well as nutrition education to help them understand the importance of healthy dietary practices during antenatal and postnatal period.
  • Project Aarogyajeevan: The project aims at preventive and curative healthcare with a special focus on Child malnutrition. It improves the health status of mothers and newborn babies by ensuring effective antenatal and postnatal care. The project also focuses on improving the nutritional status of children up to 10 years of age by ensuring healthy dietary practices. As a part of preventive healthcare, health promotion activities and home visits are carried out through Niramaya’s health workers to reach out to community people. Need-based curative services are provided to community people.
  • Project MAMTA:  It aims to bring down the prevalence of malnutrition in children between 0-10 years age group and reduction of maternal mortality by ensuring effective antenatal and postnatal care. Children are screened to assess their nutritional status and identified malnourished children are supported with appropriate medication and diet plan. Their parents undergo dietary education to improve family’s daily diet practices. High risk pregnancies are detected and managed at early stage
  • EK PEHEL SWASTHYA KI AUR: is the school based health and hygiene corner program which is being implemented at selected secondary schools with the support of Tata power community development trust. The project focuses on inculcating healthy dietary and sanitary practices among school going children and providing a space to exercise appropriate sanitary practices in the school.
