Roopaantar Nature and Health Organisation blends environmental stewardship with community upliftment. It works towards building a world where people and nature coexist in harmony. With a mission rooted in sustainable development, Roopaantar promotes ecological restoration, health, and women’s empowerment. It focuses on skill-building, environmental awareness, and social resilience, especially among marginalised communities.
Major Interventions:
Urban Plantation and Drum Plantation: With a commitment to re-greening urban spaces, this initiative introduces sustainable plantation methods even in challenging areas. Roopaantar collaborates with local bodies to plant and maintain trees, while also raising environmental awareness through visual messaging on repurposed drums.
Urban Forest: In partnership with educational institutions and corporate partners, Roopaantar develops dense, native forests using the Miyawaki method. This initiative not only enhances biodiversity but also serves as a model of community-driven environmental conservation, showcasing the power of collective action in ecological restoration.
Project Madad: The NGO focuses on providing essential nourishment and medical support. It regularly distributes nutritious meals to women patients in hospitals, thereby distributing Khichdi to several female patients on a daily basis, ensuring they receive healthy, easily digestible food during their treatment. The project also extends food and medicine support to other underprivileged, disabled individuals and partner NGOs. Through this initiative, Roopaantar strengthens healthcare access and promotes recovery with dignity and care.
Project Sui Dhaga & Muskaan: Roopaantar offers professional sewing training to underprivileged women, enabling them to achieve financial independence. It combines mentorship, counselling, and skill development. The initiative cultivates entrepreneurship by equipping participants with the skills needed to take up commercial tailoring work, transforming lives one stitch at a time. In various chapters like Ahmedabad and Indore, women manage food stalls, create eco-friendly crafts, and develop small enterprises, all while building confidence and social identity.
