Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) works with the vision of achieving “Total Management of Cancer.” Established with a mission to support patients and their families, CPAA provides a holistic approach to cancer care through awareness, prevention, early detection, treatment support, rehabilitation, advocacy, and research. Its goal is to ensure that no patient fights cancer alone and that care and dignity remain at the heart of every service offered.

Major Interventions:

Awareness and Prevention: CPAA places a strong emphasis on creating awareness about cancer, its warning signs, and the importance of making informed lifestyle choices. It conducts educational programs in schools, workplaces, and communities to encourage healthy living. It also runs tobacco cessation initiatives to reduce the leading cause of oral cancer in India. Through public campaigns and collaborations, CPAA works to break stigma, promote knowledge, and inspire proactive health behaviour.

Early Detection: Recognising that early detection saves lives, CPAA conducts regular cancer screening camps and diagnostic services for vulnerable groups. Mobile units and specialised centres provide free or affordable tests, including HPV screening for cervical cancer. Women, children, daily wage workers, and marginalized communities are given priority to ensure equal access to medical facilities.

Patient Support: CPAA provides comprehensive support to patients throughout their treatment journey. From financial assistance for medicines and investigations to diet supplements, prosthetics, and counselling, it provides multidimensional care. Volunteers act as bridges between doctors and patients, helping families navigate the complexities of treatment with empathy and guidance.

Rehabilitation: The CPAA Rehab Centre empowers survivors and caregivers by equipping them with vocational skills such as printing, embroidery, and candle-making. This initiative restores self-reliance, offering both income and dignity. Alongside skill training, patients receive rations, education support for children, and psychological counselling to rebuild their lives after treatment.

CPAA runs art-based therapy workshops, especially for children undergoing treatment. These workshops use painting, drawing, and other creative activities to help young patients express emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience during their treatment journey.
