Pammal Sankara Group of Eye Hospitals provide comprehensive and qualitative eye care to all segments of society through three Eye Hospitals addressing avoidable blindness in society and with the firm conviction that no person with a curable eye ailment should be deprived of treatment merely on account of lack of affordability. The hospitals are fully equipped with ophthalmic equipment and compassionate doctors.

Major Interventions:

Walk-In Services:  The full range of services available as walk-in services are Refraction, Comprehensive Ophthalmic examination and Consultation Speciality Consultation for Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, Uvea, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Orbit & Oculoplasty Investigations include OCT, OCTA, FFA, Pachymetry, Corneal Topographer, Visual Fields, Biometry (A-scan, B-Scan) and laser interferometric biometry, Central and Peripheral specular microscopy, Treatment for Yag Laser, Green Laser, Foreign Body Removal, Minor procedures, Intravitreal Injections, Low Vision Therapy, Contact lenses, Spectacles dispensing and Optical Dispensing.

In-Patient Services:  It include surgical procedures offered as Daycare interventions as well as surgeries needing admission. Following Ocular surgeries are carried out in the Hospital-

  • Cataract: Small Incision Cataract Surgeries, Phacoemulsification surgeries, Micro-incision Cataract Surgeries with a wide choice in Intraocular lenses. Almost all of these surgeries are available as Day-care interventions
  • Refractive Surgeries, Glaucoma
  • Retina: Full range of retinal interventions
  • Cornea including Corneal transplants
  • Orbit & Oculoplasty – full range of surgeries
  • Paediatric

Outreach Services has been the foundation services of the Hospital right from inception and is the primary raison of the organization. The camps conducted include Cataract Screening, Diabetic Retinopathy Screening, and Glaucoma Screening.

Eye Bank is responsible for harvesting from donors followed by grading, evaluation, and processing for storage. Corneas are distributed to qualified surgeons, while other eye parts are used for therapy, research, and training. The Eye Bank also conducts training and awareness activities, providing tissues for various purposes.
