Women’s Livelihood Federation (WLF) is a grassroots collective that works to empower women-led organizations across Tamil Nadu. Guided by its vision of “Women lead the social sector,” the Federation strengthens women leaders, enabling them to drive social change at the community level. Its mission focuses on equipping women with leadership skills, enhancing networks among member organizations, and creating a collaborative environment where women leaders can thrive.

Major Interventions:

Strengthening Federation Member Training Program: WLF organizes training sessions designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of women-headed NGOs. Workshops focus on governance, policies, communication, and networking, integrating gender-sensitive approaches to leadership, advocacy, and mentorship. These trainings build confidence, strengthen resilience against gender biases, and amplify the collective impact of women leaders. It helps NGOs adopt effective practices for organizational growth, ensuring long-term sustainability and stronger community impact.

Niranthara Lite Program: WLF offers practical support to small non-profits. It helps them build essential systems in compliance, governance, finance, accounting, and human resource management. Through tailored guidance, the program empowers these organizations to develop credibility, enhance operational efficiency, and increase their impact.

Research and Networking: WLF conducts surveys and status reports to understand the socio-economic aspirations of women leaders and their organizational needs. Participation in national conclaves, regional partner meetings, and exposure visits provides members with opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore fundraising strategies, and strengthen collaborative networks.

Technology and Innovation: The Federation also emphasizes digital literacy and documentation tools. Training sessions on annual reporting, software use, and social media engagement ensure that member organizations adapt to modern platforms, enhancing their visibility and outreach.
