Muskan Foundation works towards empowering children with Multiple Disabilities and Vision Impairment (MDVI) and enabling their active participation in families and communities. Guided by the vision of recognising each child’s unique abilities, the mission focuses on providing customised, low-cost therapies and special education under one roof, while equipping parents with the skills and confidence to support their child’s development.
Major Interventions:
Mother Toddler Program: Muskan supports early development for children from birth to three years, working closely with mothers to enhance their understanding of their child’s needs. Through sensory and concept-based activities, it promotes both child development and parental empowerment.
Early Intervention Program: For children aged four to seven, this program uses a multidisciplinary approach to assess and develop vision, hearing, cognitive, and physical abilities. It builds holistic skills and prepares children for integration into mainstream education.
Functional Academic & Transition Programs: Children with multiple disabilities are taught essential academic and daily living skills, enabling them to participate more independently in society. The Transition Group prepares adolescents for vocational pathways through practical sessions, soft skills training, and sexuality education.
Specialised Therapies: Muskan offers multiple therapies tailored to individual needs, including Vision Rehabilitation, Speech and Communication Enhancement, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Behaviour Therapy. These therapies support mobility, daily living skills, communication, and emotional well-being.
Home Program & Parallel Instruction: These services ensure that children who cannot attend centres receive structured learning and therapy at home, while those in mainstream schools receive supplementary skill-based training alongside the standard curriculum.
C.A.M.E - A Positive Change: This parent empowerment initiative focuses on counselling, skills development, music therapy, and caregiver training to enhance parents’ mental health and their ability to support their child effectively.
