AKT was formed by visually challenged persons of Saurashtra region in Gujarat, India, but functions nationally and internationally whenever any necessity arises for the cause of the disabled.

While AKT was initially set up for the welfare of the blind, it felt a great need to undertake educational and rehabilitation programmes for the welfare of other categories of the disabled including the visually impaired, hearing impaired, mentally challenged, orthopedically handicapped as well as multi-handicapped and those with cerebral palsy.

1) The financials presented are the consolidated figures of Andhjan Kalyan Trust, Residential Care Centre under the Samarth Centre Based Scheme, and Braille & Talking Book Library for Visually Impaired.
2) We have grossed up income (under Sales/Fees) and expenses (under Direct Programme Activities) for the Computer Education Centre for FY14 and FY15. 3) In FY13 and FY15, Other Expenses/Transfers include Fixed Assets and Dead Stock written off. 4) In FY14 and FY15, 90% of the Fixed Assets are Dead Stock. 5) In FY15, Andhjan Kalyan Trust (AKT) has given a loan of Rs2 lakhs to Braille & Talking book library (BTBL) and hence, this amount has been knocked off from the Current assets of AKT and Loan liability of BTBL. |
