Computer Shiksha is committed to providing free computer literacy to underserved communities. It aims to bridge the digital divide by ensuring that students attending schools in remote and economically disadvantaged areas have access to comprehensive computer education. Its mission is to empower students with essential digital skills, enabling them to participate effectively in the modern world. The focus is to deliver high-quality computer education through structured courses, self-learning resources, and continuous support.
Major Interventions:
Computer Literacy Program: The NGO provides a structured curriculum that covers the fundamentals of computer usage, file management, text processing, spreadsheets, presentation skills, and internet applications. The courses range from basic to advanced levels, ensuring that students of varying proficiency levels can benefit. It is designed for practical learning, with each student working on a dedicated computer. Schools receive training resources, video courseware, and certification support to ensure effective implementation.
Hardware and Maintenance Assistance: To facilitate effective learning, Computer Shiksha provides schools with essential hardware, including computers, LED TVs, and software support. It ensures continuous equipment maintenance with a professional refurbishment center dedicated to repairing and replacing faulty components. This initiative guarantees that schools can sustain long-term computer education without financial or technical constraints.
Teacher Training and Support: Computer Shiksha recognizes the importance of skilled educators and conducts rigorous training programs for teachers. These include an eight-day intensive workshop on using self-learning videos, managing hardware, and assessing student progress. Schools receive ongoing technical support, ensuring that computer labs remain operational with minimal downtime. The company also provides a dedicated helpline for troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
Assessment and Certification: Students enrolled in the program undergo periodic assessments to evaluate their progress. Computer Shiksha provides evaluations, ensuring that students develop practical computer skills. Upon successful completion, students receive certifications that validate their learning and enhance their academic and career opportunities.
