Dignity Foundation is a pioneering organization committed to enriching the lives of senior citizens in India. With a vision to change societal perceptions of aging, it works to empower elders by providing dignity, care, and opportunities for purposeful living. Its mission is to ensure that senior citizens lead secure, active, and fulfilling lives through well-structured programs focused on health, emotional wellbeing, and social engagement.
Major Interventions:
Dignity Foundation operates Geriatric Day Care Centres, offering safe spaces for senior citizens to socialize, engage in recreational activities, and receive health support. These centres address loneliness, promote physical fitness, and ensure nutritious meals, fostering an environment where seniors can thrive and connect.
It runs Dementia Day Care Centres, providing specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Through activities like cognitive exercises, music therapy, and memory games, the centres improve emotional and physical wellbeing while offering respite to caregivers.
Health support is a priority, with initiatives like the Geriatric Mobile Physiotherapy Van delivering doorstep services for mobility-related issues. The foundation also organizes regular medical check-ups, camps, and awareness sessions to ensure seniors receive essential healthcare.
Dignity Foundation’s Loneliness Mitigation Centres serve as platforms for emotional connection and creative expression. Activities such as yoga, Zumba, games, and discussions enhance mental and physical health, while cultural programs and celebrations foster a strong sense of community.
Through the Anand Daan program, monthly ration kits are distributed to underprivileged senior citizens, ensuring food security and peace of mind for those living in vulnerable conditions. This initiative addresses basic needs, allowing elders to live with dignity.
The Chai Masti Centres provide recreational opportunities for seniors, featuring interactive sessions, workshops, and social gatherings. These centres offer a joyful environment where elders can rediscover hobbies, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.
