IDEA (Foundation for Initiatives in Development and Education for All) is dedicated to creating equal opportunities for underprivileged children, youth, and women. The vision is to foster a just society where individuals have access to fair chances for their holistic development by implementing educational and skilling programs, aiming to minimize school dropouts and enhance employability.
Major Interventions:
UTKARSH operates study centers for children in grades 1 through 7. Teaching is conducted in a holistic manner, incorporating Activity-Based Learning (ABL) and e-learning. The primary focus is on enhancing fundamental learning skills such as reading, writing, mathematics, and comprehension.
UDAAN provides educational sponsorship to students from grade 8 up to graduation. This program offers financial assistance for school and college fees and stationery. Additionally, it includes life skills sessions and provides leadership training through Youth clubs and career counselling for high-potential youth.
ASHAKIRAN is a skilling program designed to impart vocational training to underprivileged women and youth from urban, rural, and tribal areas. The training covers various trades like beauty and care, cooking and catering, and tailoring, enhancing skills and employability.
UNNATI is an Entrepreneurial Development Program (EDP) for women who have completed their vocational training. It aims to provide them with the knowledge and encouragement needed to start their enterprises. The program also includes life skills, digital literacy, and helps organize women into Self-Help Groups (SHGs), supporting them in becoming micro-entrepreneurs.
E-SAKSHAR: This Digital Literacy Programme teaches the basics of computers and the internet, aligned with the Government's NDLM (National Digital Literacy Mission). It is open to people of all age groups and helps bridge the digital divide, increasing the confidence of children, college students, and underprivileged entrepreneurs.
