Presence

Programs

Karnataka Hemophilia Society (KHS) is dedicated to improving the lives of people with Hemophilia and other rare bleeding disorders. Over the years, it has grown into a comprehensive center for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, offering holistic care under one roof. The vision is “Hemophilia without Disability, Children free of Pain,” and its mission emphasizes ensuring access to quality healthcare, advocacy, and community support.

Major Interventions:

KHS manages the Life Line Blood Centre, which features a component separation unit. This facility provides free transfusion services to patients with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. It also organizes voluntary blood donation camps across Karnataka in schools, colleges, hospitals, and community spaces. The centre supports the collection, separation, and distribution of blood components like packed red cells, platelets, fresh frozen plasma, and cryoprecipitate. This program not only ensures a reliable supply of safe blood products for patients but also spreads awareness about voluntary blood donation, making it a cornerstone of KHS’s comprehensive care model.

Save One Life Program: KHS provides educational and medical support to individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders. Scholarships and financial assistance enable patients to pursue education, build careers, and lead dignified lives despite health challenges.

Santhrupthi Free Food Project offers free meals to patients admitted for treatment. By easing the burden on families during hospitalization, this program ensures that patients and their caregivers receive nutritional care and dignity.

Hemophilia Outreach Program extends services to underserved communities through open clinics, home-based treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation. These efforts bring lifesaving support to remote regions, reducing the financial and emotional strain on families while ensuring timely care.

Advocacy, Awareness, and Collaborations: KHS regularly conducts training sessions for healthcare professionals, awareness drives, and collaborations with government and corporate partners. These initiatives promote early diagnosis, expand access to medicines, and build an informed society.
