Programs

Vijay Krida Mandal (VKM) has been working proactively in the area of providing services to many communities by organizing medical camps and addressing the issue of HIV-AIDS. It drives the structured interventions in the areas of Social development while maintaining the highest standard of governance and ethics.

Major Interventions:

Medical Relief: The NGO tackles HIV/AIDS through various programs targeting high-risk groups. Preventive measures are conducted along with awareness programs for community & youth in rural and urban areas. DISHA empowers brothel-based female sex workers in Mumbai with education on hygiene, safe sex practices, and self-help groups. AASTHA focuses on bar girls, promoting safe sex and healthcare access through workshops and events. Whereas, projects including Kiran and Uday specifically address preventing mother-to-child and child-to-mother HIV transmission.

General Health Services: It offers various general health services to the community. Free health camps provide check-ups, blood donation opportunities, rallies against drug consumption and health education. Ambulance services are available for emergencies, and a subsidized health club promotes physical fitness.

Library & Computer Training Services: Vijay Krida further supports education and well-being through libraries. These libraries offer newspapers, books on a variety of topics, encouraging reading among children and adults. Additionally, computer training centers and tuition classes are provided in affordable courses for underprivileged families.

Community Events: To address specific needs, it organizes various community events. Food grains are distributed to female sex workers facing economic hardship due to the pandemic. Free eye testing camps with cataract surgeries are offered to both female sex workers and the broader community. Sanitary napkins are also distributed to promote menstrual hygiene management among female sex workers.
