Vathsalya Charitable Trust (VCT) focuses on the adoption and serving of marginalized children and their families in migrant communities. The goal is to strengthen families through child development, utilizing child-centric and community-driven program methodologies. They are dedicated to reaching those who are unreached and disadvantaged.

Major Interventions:

Child Development Program (CDC) focuses on the holistic development of young children, preparing them for a smooth transition into formal schools. The curriculum has been expanded to include local languages, such as Kannada and Hindi, along with subjects like mathematics, English, and General Knowledge. The program also provides comprehensive day-care services, health checkups, and nutritional support.

Child Nutrition Program (CNP) takes a multifaceted approach to address the nutritional needs of children and their families. The program provides nutrition support initiatives, including eggs and a multi-mineral protein porridge. It also conducts regular medical screenings and growth monitoring activities, with a particular focus on children with low hemoglobin levels. Parent meetings are held to educate families on topics like family strengthening, nutrition, hygiene, anemia, and the importance of iron supplements.

Education Sponsorship Program provides financial support and mentorship to children from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The program partners with schools in and around Bangalore to provide tuition for students from grades one to ten. The program's team closely monitors each child's progress through regular follow-ups, home visits, and workshops. It also works to identify and address sponsorship gaps for high school graduates and to secure funding for their higher education.

Income Generation Program (IGP) empowers women and young mothers by providing them with skill development, peer support, and community engagement initiatives. The program has been restructured to transition away from a capital-assistance model to a training model, enabling women to monetize skills such as tailoring and other home-based businesses, thereby fostering financial independence.
