Arogya Prabodhini operates with a dedicated focus on improving the quality of life for marginalized rural populations through comprehensive healthcare, education, and social welfare initiatives. Its mission centers on bridging the gap between essential services and underserved communities, ensuring that geographical barriers do not hinder access to basic human rights and dignity.
Major Interventions:
Child Rights and Protection: The NGO implements dedicated child protection and rights awareness programs under the Bal Sangopan Yojana of the Government of Maharashtra. It identifies eligible beneficiaries in the Gadchiroli and Bhandara districts and submits essential Social Investigation Reports, Quarterly Follow-up Reports, and Progress Reports to the Child Welfare Committee. Through these initiatives, the NGO ensures that children receive necessary care and that the local community remains informed about legal safeguards and protection rights.
Single Widow Welfare: Arogya operates a comprehensive welfare program for widows, specifically targeting those from the unorganized sector. This program provides psychological support and financial assistance through donor contributions to help women navigate their circumstances. Furthermore, the NGO facilitates self-employment recommendations and conducts awareness drives regarding government welfare schemes to ensure long-term economic stability for these women and their children.
Rural Healthcare and Wellness: It operates a rural-friendly health clinic that brings medical treatment directly to villages, particularly during the rainy season when hospital access is restricted. It conducts health education camps focusing on the prevention of diseases such as Dengue and Malaria. Additionally, the NGO provides specialized health programs for senior citizens, including regular monitoring of blood pressure and sugar levels.
Youth Development and Advocacy: The NGO promotes youth engagement through the operation of a gymnasium and study centers for competitive examination preparation. It conducts career guidance sessions for students and parents to foster professional growth. Furthermore, the organization leads aggressive de-addiction campaigns and tobacco-free school initiatives to protect students from substance abuse.
