COMBATING CHILD LABOUR, PROMOTING THEIR EDUCATION

In the rural areas of the backward district of Guntur there are large sections of poor and deprived people including socially excluded communities whose children has either not been to schools or are school drop-outs. These children could be seen engaged in one or the other child labor with the purpose of supporting and supplementing family livelihood.
An analysis would reveal that if we are able to address the problems of earning livelihood of the people then the parents will feel free to send their children to schools. With proper empowerment and motivation the mindset of the parents can be changed and the children can be enrolled in schools and given proper education. The proposed project to be implemented by Rural Care Ministries for a period of one year, envisages attaining sustainable development for the poor and deprived sections of people including socially excluded communities in the rural areas of the district of Guntur, in Andhra Pradesh, S. INDIA.
