Support a Sister

We, Thozhi Federation, are working for the rights of working women in the unorganized sector across 15 districts of Tamil Nadu. We are connected with 85 grassroots non-governmental organizations and have registered 11 women-led trade unions under the Labour Welfare Board in 11 districts, comprising a total of 1,320 women workers.

To strengthen the functioning and sustainability of these trade unions, we are planning to establish social enterprises in the form of computer service centres under each union. These centres will serve a dual purpose:
1. Generate income to support the trade unions’ long-term sustainability.
2. Provide accessible services to union members to help them avail various government labour welfare schemes, as well as extend low-cost services (such as typing, printing, and photocopying) to the general public.

To implement this initiative, we propose to equip each centre with one desktop computer, one printer, and one photocopying (Xerox) machine.
