Keep the Lights On and the Connection Alive

In the narrow lanes of Ghatkopar, where life is tough and opportunities scarce, Gully Classes Foundation (GCF) was born in 2021—not out of privilege, but out of a deep, personal struggle.

Our founder, Abdul Munaf, grew up with uncertainty as a constant companion. With a fragile financial background and the burden of supporting his family from a young age, education was never just a right—it was a luxury he had to fight for. That fight turned into a purpose. He saw too many children dropping out of school, not because they lacked talent, but because their parents—daily wage laborers—had to constantly move in search of work. Continuity in education became a casualty.

Munaf started small: helping children study under streetlights, paying fees when he could, and collecting notebooks from wherever he could find them. His efforts began to resonate. People opened their hearts—and their empty rooms and shops—for the cause. Slowly, a movement began. That movement is now GCF.

Today, Gully Classes Foundation is committed to reducing school dropout rates, enhancing academic performance, building confidence, shaping well-rounded personalities, and showing these kids that new career paths are within reach. We want every child to not just stay in school, but to grow with purpose and possibility.

But we can't do it alone.

Until now, we’ve sustained ourselves through small personal donations, grants, and by selling goods made by members of the very community we serve. But today, for the first time, we’re reaching out on this platform—because we need your help.

We’re raising funds to install WiFi and sustain the payment for Electricity usage at our learning center. These might sound basic to many, but for our kids, they are lifelines. Internet access means they can explore the world, attend online classes, and dream beyond their neighborhoods. Electricity means they can study after dark and continue learning even when the sun sets on their crowded streets.

This is not just about wires or routers. It’s about giving children the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty.
