Presence

Programs

Balajee Sewa Sansthan (BSS) envisions a society where disadvantaged groups live with dignity, equal opportunities, and better health. Its mission is to create self-employment avenues, promote economic development, and build a healthy and inclusive environment. BSS focuses on preventive healthcare, women's empowerment, skill development, financial inclusion, and sustainable rural development.

Major Interventions:

HIV-AIDS Program: BSS implements targeted interventions for HIV prevention among migrant workers, truckers, and transit populations. It provides awareness, counseling, testing, and linkages to treatment. The program promotes safe practices, reduces stigma, and ensures access to care for high-risk groups.

Tobacco Control: The NGO strengthens tobacco control efforts through awareness, policy advocacy, and enforcement support. It works with schools, communities, and government bodies to implement the Tobacco-Free Educational Institution guidelines. BSS also promotes tobacco-free villages and organizes campaigns during major public events such as the Kumbh Mela.

Women and Reproductive Health: BSS raises awareness among adolescent girls and women on reproductive health, hygiene, and preventive care. It conducts health camps, counseling sessions, and training programs to empower women with knowledge and access to essential services.

Water and Sanitation: It constructs low-cost toilets and sanitation facilities in rural and urban areas to improve hygiene and reduce open defecation. It also supports schools with toilet complexes, contributing to better health and dignity for students.

Self-Help Groups and Financial Literacy: BSS promotes the formation and strengthening of self-help groups, enabling women to practice savings, access credit, and start income-generating activities. It also conducts financial literacy programs and supports digital transactions, ensuring financial inclusion. BSS also offers vocational training in tailoring, beautician work, handicrafts, and computer skills. It supports women and youth in becoming self-reliant through entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.

It mobilizes farmers into clubs and producer organizations, providing them with access to modern techniques, collective marketing, and better financial linkages.
