Programs

Banwasi Vikas Ashram (BVA) is a grassroots voluntary organization operating in Jharkhand, committed to overall rural development. BVA's multifaceted approach focuses on addressing various developmental challenges thereby contributing significantly to improving the lives of marginalized communities.

Major Interventions:

Child Welfare (Childline 1098): Collaborating with Childline India Foundation, BVA supports India's first national emergency phone outreach service for children in distress. Outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and support services are provided in Giridih district to ensure the well-being of children.

Education: BVA strives to uplift education standards and accessibility in areas with low literacy rates. Efforts include establishing educational infrastructure, providing resources, and conducting teacher training programs.

Livelihood Enhancement: The organization empowers local communities, particularly women, through skill training and income-generating activities. Women self-help groups foster entrepreneurship in sectors like handicrafts, dairy farming, and organic agriculture.

Healthcare and Nutrition: BVA conducts medical camps in remote villages, providing free health check-ups, vaccinations, and essential medicines. Nutrition programs target children and pregnant women, promoting awareness of balanced diets.

Community Engagement: Active community involvement is fostered through outreach sessions, open houses, and awareness programs. BVA participates in village events, religious gatherings, and marketplaces to spread awareness on child protection and rights.
