| : | Whether the goal setting starts, is it the start of the project? After 23 years of working, what does everyone think? I would say much before the start of the project because you are hiring people depending on that. It doesn't generally happen the other way around, though I know a lot of us end up doing it, right? We kind of say that, "Okay, this is a team that I have, this is the money that I have, now what can I do?" But in the ideal case scenario, if there was an ideal world, I would say that you plan, you set a goal, and then you hire accordingly. You bring in resources accordingly. But yes, much earlier. Typically, organizational goals are set in January-February because your financial years begin in April. So in Jan-Feb, you know, generally, we do this large goal-setting process so that everybody is clear. At the time of appraisals, when you're doing one-on-one appraisals with people, you are telling them the goal of the organization is this. Now we've broken it down, your project has to achieve this, and therefore, this is what you need to do. Ideal case scenario, if we can all do it, fantastic. But even if we can do a semblance of that, that's really ideal. So right now, you should have already been in, you know, the goal-setting mode and appraising what happened last year. |
