Angel Xpress Foundation (AXF) empowers underprivileged children by connecting them with empathetic, educated adults who serve as mentors. Through its strategically located Free Learning Centres, AXF facilitates learning for first-generation learners from nearby slums. Volunteers from high-rise communities and local schools provide tutoring and guidance. The aim is to inspire and equip these children with the skills and motivation needed to reach their full potential. Major Interventions: The Free Learning Centre Program is designed to empower first-generation learners from slum communities by providing education, mentorship, and life skills development. Through daily lessons led by trained volunteers, the program offers continuous support from Grade 2 through Grade 12, creating a social movement of volunteerism in urban society. The program focuses on holistic growth, combining academic tutoring, vocational guidance, wellbeing initiatives, and community support. The NGO partners with schools, offering diverse engagement opportunities for students, teachers, and parents. Schools can participate through weekly CAS activities, where students volunteer at AXF centers or host AXF children for planned sessions. Alternatively, schools may establish AXF learning centers on their premises, integrating the whole school community into a structured program. Institutions provide regular classes for slum children, thereby creating impactful volunteering experiences for their students. AXF adopts a holistic pedagogy to strengthen children's foundational skills in English and Math, fostering a fun and supportive learning environment. The curriculum emphasizes academic skills, life skills development, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Aligning with NCERT standards, the program monitors student progress through assessments and aims to bridge educational gaps. It also advocates for equal opportunities, especially for girls, and encourages parental involvement. |
