Amara Sabai Kailaspur Nandakumarpur Joutha Sanstha focuses on development in the areas of education, health, women empowerment, and other social issues. By identifying and nurturing the hidden potential of local women, youth, adolescents, and senior citizens, it empowers individuals to unlock their talents and actively engage in their own development. They have been working towards community-based sustainable development in rural areas of southern Sundarbans, West Bengal.

Major Interventions:

Education: The NGO has long prioritized education as a cornerstone of its mission, launching early childhood education projects, adult literacy programs, and non-formal education initiatives earlier to improve the area's literacy rate. Today, they continue this legacy by consolidating all educational efforts under one roof and introducing a formal primary education program in a supportive learning environment. To enhance learning, Smart Class technology has been integrated, along with computer education, art, and music, dance, and sports activities. Students actively participate in cultural and sports events, including Saraswati Puja, fostering both academic and extracurricular growth.

Pottery Training cum Production: The NGO runs a pottery training and production program to empower rural women, recognizing their vulnerability and limited involvement in family decision-making due to a lack of economic independence. By offering part-time employment through this initiative, the program aims to uplift their dignity within their households. Initially, forty women were selected to undergo a six-month training phase, providing them with valuable skills and opportunities to contribute financially. With a self-sustaining model, the project plans to gradually involve more families.

Gender and Positive Masculinities: A two-day residential state-level training camp was hosted during the year, focused on gender and positive masculinities. Expert facilitators from UNICEF, NYKS, and the West Bengal Health Department led the sessions, providing comprehensive guidance on promoting gender equity and fostering positive masculinities within communities.

Ambulance Services: In response to the lack of medical facilities and limited communication in the rural regions, the NGO operates a 24-hour ambulance service to address urgent healthcare needs, enabling them to be transported to distant hospitals for necessary medical care. The initiative plays a crucial role in bridging the healthcare gap for the community.

Awareness: It hosts celebration events featuring sports, cultural performances, seminars, and workshops, where youth and community members showcase their talents through dance, song, theatre, and recitations. Alongside the festivities, awareness programs are organized on critical issues such as scientific agriculture, pest management, disaster preparedness, women's rights, child health, and solid waste management, aiming to educate the community on social injustices.
