Helping people help themselves
  • HIV/AIDS Prevention & Cure has accounted for a third of CSI's spend in the past 5 years, reaching about 46,000 p.a. They have worked on behavioural changes among 180,000 truckers; almost 10,000 patients have used their care centres for treatment/counselling; 2,500 have been treated for sexually transmitted diseases.
  • In FY15, Child Rights & Protection jumped to 30% of program spend and greater numbers of children will benefit going forward. CSI provides non-formal education, tuition support, mainstreaming & computer education (4-yr avg ~3,300 p.a.)
  • CSI works in Maternal & Child Health to reduce the mortality rate by providing ante/post natal care and immunizations, reaching 65,000 p.a. in the last 5 years. Their water/sanitation efforts covered access/awareness of safe water, sanitation & hygiene reaching 35,000 p.a. in the past 3 years.
