Etasha Society (Etasha) was established to provide vocational, placement, and employability skills training & career guidance to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in India for Sustainable Employment and Income Generation.

Key Programs incude:

Vocational Training & Placement Programs: Etasha offers short-duration industry-relevant skills training to underprivileged youth with school level education and arranges placement for successful trainees, launching them into growth-oriented careers. The major programs are:

  • 2 industry-relevant skills training and placement programs of 3 hours a day over 4- months’ duration, viz. CCCS (Confidence in Computers & Customer Services) and CATT (Confidence in Accounts, Taxation and Tally) skill and place class 12 passed underprivileged youth into relevant jobs in growth-oriented Service Sector Industry.
  • B-SMART: A pivot of the CCCS program which is delivered through a blended online- offline methodology combining one-on-one mentoring, hands-on training and on-line facilitated learning. This program is delivered for 4 hours a day over 8 to 10 weeks.
  • Employability Skills Development and Placement (ESDP): Designed for students of Government-supported Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs), World Class Skill Centres (WCSCs), and Polytechnics the program covers soft and core skills training followed by placement for youth enrolled in technical as well as non-technical trades.
  • Grassroots Entrepreneurship Program (GEP): The program identifies youth with the right skills and an entrepreneurial mind-set, imparts business knowledge, trains in enterprise management skills, helps develop a business plan and arranges some initial funding thus helping youth to set up their small- scale enterprises.

Women Entrepreneurship Program: Creating awareness about the possibility of generating income through self-owned and managed enterprises among house-bound, frequently illiterate/semiliterate women, motivating them to earn without relying on exploitative middle-men, helping them to come together as a group of co-owners to decide on a business to provide basic level of empowerment with the ability to sign their names, read sign boards, newspapers. CBFL Software developed by TCS, is used to engage the audience and provide basic numeracy skills like counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division along with language skills like writing their names and reading basic Hindi words.

Career Guidance & Life Skills Development: This program includes a series of Life Skills workshops for students of classes 8th to 12th supported by individual face-to-face counselling by trained counsellors. With a view to ensure children complete school education and become eligible for growth-oriented jobs and careers, Career Guidance is provided to high school students in the form of workshops in school. Etasha’s Career Highway Workshops are designed to assist each participant to identify career(s) most suitable for them on the basis of scientifically assessed aptitudes and interests.
