Connecting Underprivileged Communities to Employment & Income Generation
  • Crisis: Despite many unfulfilled jobs in India, youth unemployment rate is high due to lack of skills. ETASHA focuses on holistic development and mind-set change of underprivileged youth and their eco-system.
  • Programs: 1) Vocational Training & Placement: Short-duration industry-relevant skills training and placement. Beneficiaries: Std XII passed underprivileged youth; 18-28 years age group; schooling from Govt. school or NIOS. 2) Employability Skill Development: Soft and core skills training and placement for youth and students from Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). 3) Career Guidance: Based on student's interest and potential. 4) Other: Training ITI Instructors in employability skills; Entrepreneurship development and enterprise management for women keen on income generation.
  • Outcome: 1) 23,000+ youth reached. 2) 10,000+ youth trained in vocational & employability skills. 60% enrolment is of girls since 2 years. Overall placement rate is over 70%. Starting monthly salaries in the Rs6,500-15,000 range. 3) 7,000+ students given Career Guidance. 4) 100+ ITI trainers trained. 6) 120+ women skilled.
