A capable society with all human rights; equity, peace, justice and security.
Crisis: Tribal & Rural people are often considered as a 'blockage' towards development and progress. However, the ideology of 'development' is generally understood as 'dominant development paradigm' that brings only negative effect on our villages. Although it an essential part of enhancing economic conditions, its experience of today is of anti-poor and pro-rich.
Programs: Yuva Rural Association (YRA) focuses to empower the deprived sections of rural and tribal society through interventions in the areas of livelihoods, gender, environment and advocacy to achieve its goals for the betterment of the constituencies. They mainly run 3 programs- a) Livelihood Promotion has sub-programs under it, currently they are encouraging Sustainable Agriculture, Soil & Water Management, Forest Based Livelihood etc. in the Vidarbha region of Maharahstra, India. b) YRA also promotes programs related to Gender Equity where they endorse women to open Self-Help groups to kick start a career of their own and also quality education for every child in the tribal/rural area. c) There is a major lack of awareness and information amongst the masses. YRA assists people in the Rural and Tribal areas to create a sort of political & social sense of awareness running various Advocacy and Youth awareness campaigns.
Outcome: YRA's current direct interventions are in more than 525 villages from around 18 blocks of 8 districts in Vidarbha region and Parbhani district from Marathwada region of Maharashtra, India.
