NGO Profile :
Global Hospital and Research Centre (GHRC) offers basic health care services to the weaker sections of society.

Till 2011, GHRC had provided subsidised treatment and medicine to 100,000 people including 54,000 tribal folks living in the district's 855 villages.

Current projects include –

  • The Smile Train – this USA based charity sponsors the surgery of children afflicted by a cleft lip or a cleft palate.  In 2011-12, 698 cleft lip and cleft palate corrective surgeries were performed.
  • Juvenile patient project – Sponsored by Grapes for Humanity Global Foundation, USA jointly with a trustee of Replica Breitling Navitimer UK the hospital; the main aim of this 5-year old program is to provide treatment for both chronic and emergency health problems faced by unprivileged children. 637 children benefited in the year 2012.
  • Tuberculosis project – Sponsored by Grapes for Humanity Global Foundation, USA; The People Bridge Charitable Foundation, Canada & Give India; 37 field workers are mandated with the task of screening every doubtful case to enable prompt treatment.
  • Project Nayanraj – Orbis International, Inc., and P C Parmar Foundation Global Hospital Eye Care Centre sponsored a 3-year programme in 2006. This project completed screening for ocular diseases for 80,000 school and pre-verbal children. Training was provided for diagnoses and managing paediatric ocular health problems to 1000 school teachers and 54 ophthalmologists/ paediatricians/ general practitioners.

  • Research is conducted by GHRC on topics like coronary artery disease, chronic otitis media, sickle cell anaemia, psychoactive substance abuse, patient’s wellbeing and burnout syndrome in healthcare.
