Modern Educational Social and Cultural Organization (MESCO) is a selfless effort for serving mankind which began with a few friends. The organization works in the fields of education, medical assistance and poverty relief. Shaping careers of the economically underprivileged students, empowering women and girls, providing relief and rehabilitation, preventive and curative medical assistance, ration support and entrepreneurial avenues are key focus areas of the organization.

Major Interventions:

> Educational Programs:

i) Educational Aid: MESCO assisted 2,629 students at the school level and 1,159 students at the college level by way of one time financial aid at the beginning of the academic year. Deserving students enrolled for further technical courses and aid was provided to Short Term Vocational Courses. MESCO also extends its support for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses.

ii) Educational Adoption Scheme (EAS): This program identifies high-performing students with constrained financial conditions and limited means and supports their educational requirements on a multi-year basis. 566 students were supported during the last financial year.

iii) High Cost Education Scheme (HCES): Under this program, financial help is provided to academically bright students for professional courses. The platform offers assistance to fulfil their dream of pursuing a professional course after assessing their financial stability.

> Poverty & Disaster Relief: During the year, 438 families were provided with monthly dry ration. 131 sewing machines were distributed to widows, destitute, poor and orphan women as part of sewing machine donation drive. The NGO provides support for disaster relief thereby helping families affected by natural calamities.

> Medical Services:

i) Medical Aid: MESCO provides High Cost Medical Aid for various surgeries related to cardiac ailments, kidney, brain, orthopaedic, hormones, immunity deficiencies, injuries or burns and undergoing treatment at municipal and government hospitals. Patients undergoing smaller and short-term ailments are also provided with medical assistance including minor surgeries. During the year, 278 cases were supported.

ii) Dialysis Assistance: Financial assistance is given to patients who require support under the Sustained Dialysis Scheme for 6 months. 50 beneficiaries were treated during the year.

iii) Dispensaries and Health Camps: The NGO runs clinics to provide primary care with qualified professionals, several awareness and medical camps are also conducted. Emphasis on prevention of diseases is the primary focus to overcome nutrition deficiencies, infectious diseases and unhygienic living conditions. Antibiotics, vitamins, calcium and iron supplements are also provided.
