Crisis: According to a research, out of 200 million students enrolled in schools in the remote areas of India 80 million are likely to drop out by the time they reach higher secondary school. Some of the reasons for this high rate of school drop outs is lack of infrastructure in schools, migration and needless to say one of the main reasons is Poverty.
Programs: Umang Foundation was formed primarily to avail any kind of materialistic and social services to students in remote area to ensure lesser drop outs through their programs: a) "Promote Education" is one of their most crucial programs of the NGO, they provide the students with basic stationery materials as they realize it is a necessity for a child to continue with their education. b) The Foundation hosts various recreational activities for the kids through which they raise awareness about education's importance in one's life.
Outcome: Since formation, Umang Foundation has managed to cover over 15 slums in Maharashtra and brought a positive change to almost 65000 students in the schools situated in the interiors of Maharashtra.
