Building Skills for Life
  • Apni Shala Foundation (ASF) was built around the philosophy of 'education goes beyond academic goals'. They believe in incorporating skills like cognitive, social and emotional into our education system as it is equally important to address the mental wellbeing of a child. To make this happen ASF has collaborated with several government schools and private institutions.
  • ASF's programs include Theme-Based intensive workshops for students focusing on Teamwork, Conflict Resolution, Coping with Emotions, etc. Then Apni Shala has Teacher and Parent engagement workshops, for communities in rural as well as urban areas, in the best interest of overall development of a child.
  • Khoj Community School is an initiative of Apni Shala for quality education for children in the slums of Mumbai. It is also a space for professional development and research required to create an integrated curriculum set in Indian context.
  • Outcome: So far ASF has conducted 2203 theme based seminars for students, 80 teacher development projects and 860 parent engagement programs.
