Teach to Lead, better known as Teach for India (TFI) has built a movement of leaders who work together to ensure children from low-income communities attain excellent and equitable education with an aim to create a nation where every child in India is free of poverty and filled with love.

Major initiatives include:

Fellowship Program: TFI Fellowship enables individuals to get the opportunity to learn and practice leadership, serve students and navigate the very real challenges of India's inequity. TFI Fellows are put through rigorous training and professional development which begins with an intensive five-week residential, later placed for two-years in full-time teaching positions with well-defined accountability for their classrooms. They recruit the highest-quality university graduates and young professionals, who drive impact on student achievement in the government or low-income private schools and become life-long leaders able to affect systemic change.

Alumni Movement: TFI Alumni are a networked community committed to educational equity in India.  As leaders, they impact various fields (teacher training, school leadership, media, CSR) along with leading the movement of educational equity through mobilizing resources and enabling collective action of people to amplify the impact.

Innovation Cell:

  • Teacher Training Program (TTP- Firki): It is a free, world-class online teacher education platform that focuses on supporting and celebrating multiple aspects of being an educator. Through a blended (online and offline) learning model, Firki focuses on the principles and strategies which have proven successful in improving teacher competencies in low-resource communities.
  • TFIx: It is an initiative by the NGO that offers an incubation opportunity to Education Entrepreneurs across the country to adopt the fellowship model in their work. Every year, the cohort comprises a wide array of Ed-Entrepreneurs working with children from various backgrounds in India's diverse geographies and social contexts.
  • The Kids Education Revolution (KER): It is a global platform that spreads the idea of a reimagined education by exploring the principles of safe spaces for voice, kids and educators as partners, and kids as change-makers on all levels of the education ecosystem. The NGO believes all kids should unleash their full potential for a better world.

Students spend up to 8 years in a Teach for India classroom where they explore, dream and take steps to realise their dreams.
