Ashray Akruti is a registered NGO working since 1996. The NGO has implemented several initiatives under education, healthcare and skill development for children with multiple disabilities especially with a hearing impairment belonging to an underprivileged background.
Programs: i) Education: Ashray Akruti runs a special school for children with hearing impairment; under their Inclusive Education program they enable children with disabilities for mainstream education; distinctive special education diploma provided to special educators. ii) Early intervention program for children with hearing impairment (0 to 5 years) to develop language skills early in life. iii) Residential Care for boys and girls for underprivileged disabled beneficiaries. iv) Health: Free distribution of ear care equipment for children; mobile checkup clinic for free medical advice. v) Multimedia and Animation training as a part of skill development for young adults with a hearing disability.
Impact for 2019: 402 children being taught in Special Schools of Ashray Akruti; 27 shifted to mainstream education under the Inclusive Education program; 2,525 treated at the Mobile Checkup Clinic; 184 trained under Multimedia and Animation.
