K.C. Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET) is dedicated to transforming the lives of India’s youth through education. With a mission to nurture growth, the trust acts as a steadfast support system, empowering students to pursue their aspirations without fear. Its vision encompasses providing financial assistance and recognition to individuals across all age groups and income levels. KCMET focuses on unlocking employability potential among youth, especially women, while equipping girls with innovative digital tools to build a future-ready generation.

Major Interventions:

Project Nanhi Kali is a flagship program jointly managed by the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust and Naandi Foundation. It aims to empower girls from socio-economically disadvantaged families to complete 10 years of formal education. It provides daily afterschool remedial classes, AI-powered adaptive learning tools via digital tablets, and annual material kits with essential school supplies and feminine hygiene products. Holistic development is fostered through a professionally designed sports curriculum and life skills training for teenage girls. By engaging parents and community stakeholders, Project Nanhi Kali creates supportive, girl-friendly ecosystems in underserved regions. Aligned with the India’s “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative, it also empowers women within communities as educators and mentors, advancing education, employment, and gender equality.

Sports for Life program is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering girls in conservative villages through weekly sports lessons, Nanhi Kalis not only engage in drills, leadership activities, and teamwork but also gain vital knowledge about their bodies, nutrition, and menstrual health. The program trains local women as sports tutors, fostering physical fitness and self-confidence among the girls while creating employment opportunities for women in the community. The initiative culminates in the annual Toofaan Games, an event spanning 6,000 villages across 9 states, where participants compete in accessible activities like sprints, long jumps, shuttle runs, and endurance tests, celebrating the girls’ agility, stamina, and determination.

Mahindra Pride Classrooms (MPC) empowers women with employability and entrepreneurial skills. Targeting final-year students in Government Colleges, ITIs, and Polytechnic Institutes, MPC provides 40 to 120 hours of comprehensive training through a blended learning approach that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. Each state has a dedicated placement coordinator to support job placement efforts, supplemented by annual Job Utsavs that connect graduates with potential employers, ensuring meaningful employment opportunities for participants.

The NGO also empowers socio-economically disadvantaged students by providing scholarships and financial support. Its initiatives assist meritorious students across various educational levels, including those pursuing higher education abroad, job-oriented diploma courses, and undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
