Vidya & Child is dedicated to bridging the educational gap for underprivileged children, many of whom are first-generation learners from marginalized communities. Catering to students from Nursery to Class XII and beyond, the NGO provides not only academic support but also focuses on life skills, arts, and performing arts. With a mission to enable holistic development, Vidya & Child collaborates closely with parents to foster a nurturing environment that helps each child discover and embrace their unique potential, ensuring long-term growth and empowerment.

Major Interventions:

School Programme: The program is designed to initiate children into the educational process and prepare them for mainstream schooling, across all parameters – academics, attendance, behaviour, family and health. With a level-based curriculum and a self-paced, supportive learning environment, the program ensures deeper engagement between teachers and students. Key features include in-house content such as teacher manuals, worksheets, and assessment sheets, along with monthly training for educators to address learning gaps. Activity-based learning, computer-aided lessons, life skills training, and arts ensure holistic development, while field visits and parent interactions foster a well-rounded experience for each child. Other activities carried out are admissions, curriculum, arts and performing arts, value-based life skills, strong parent connect, child-centered approach, and capacity building.

After School Programme: The NGO is dedicated to enhancing the educational journey of children enrolled in mainstream schools from Classes 9 to 12 by providing academic, financial, and mentoring support. Each day, students receive hours of additional support, and engage in concept reinforcement, extracurricular activities, and mentoring. The program includes syllabus tracking, active participation in school parent-teacher meetings, and individualized attention through weekly child-specific meetings. Sessions on parent interactions and home visits, financial support towards school fees, mentoring and career counselling, career exposure sessions, competitive examinations coaching, value-based life skills, further prepare students for future success.

NIOS Programme is designed to support children who cannot continue in mainstream schools by facilitating their education through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) system, covering Classes 9 to 12. Each child receives personalized counselling and career mapping, competitive examinations/job interviews/group discussion sessions complemented by regular parent interactions through home visits and meetings. It also includes spoken English and personality development sessions, field trips for enhanced awareness, and vocational course tie-ups for skill-building.

Sports Programme provides a stress-free environment for self-discovery and exploring the uniqueness within. It helps children develop skills like self-discipline, handling conflicts, taking initiative, problem-solving, people handling and respect for each other. These skills go much beyond the field and help children build tenacity to face life situations. The focus is on self-belief and competing with oneself by pushing the boundaries for oneself.
