  • Akshaya Patra ('Inexhaustible vessel' in Sanskrit) provides nutritious Midday meals at government/government-aided schools.
  • 16 lakh children across 13,529 rural government schools in 11 states are fed every school day. They aim to feed 50 lakh children everyday by 2020.
  • Their kitchens are state-of-the-art and we have seen for ourselves the high levels of hygiene and use of technology to bring down costs to Rs8 per meal.
