A Small Step Can Make a Big Difference
  • In backward villages of Rajasthan, India there is still a lack of primary resources and awareness with regards to Education for Girl Child, Skill Development for women, Menstrual Hygiene and Sanitation. PraveenLata Sansthan (PLS) began its operations in 2013 focusing on social, economic and behavioral transformation of women and girls from rural communities in Rajasthan.
  • PraveenLata Sansthan has adopted a three pronged approach to alleviate women and girl child welfare. 1) Education: Project Laadli is a remedial education program for girls which also includes a children's library. 2) Skill Development: Titli is an initiative introduced by the NGO that trains girls and women for life skills, soft skills, financial inclusion and skills required for employment. 3) Health: Spotless Dame is another brave program that aims to create awareness about menstruation hygiene management among girls, women and their respective families. They also provide free medical check-ups and eco-friendly sanitary napkins.
  • Besides their three flagship programs, PLS also runs a Capacity Building for Personal Safety initiative for women and girls which includes self-awareness sessions, self-defense workshops, etc.
  • Outcome: So far, 10,448 beneficiaries impacted under Education; 170+ girls benefitted and trained under Skill Development and 85 workshops conducted supporting 33,000+ direct beneficiaries under Health.
