Access to unlimited learning opportunities for underprivileged children
  • Even after the Right to Free Education was made compulsory between ages 6-14, very often marginalized children and the disabled are usually left behind. In 2012, two colleagues Anand Chaturvedi and S N Sriram founded Avasar Foundation with a philosophy - Ability is nothing without opportunity. They work towards lifting children out of poverty through Education and their flagship programs.
  • Programs: i) Scholarship: The foundation promotes monetary support for education to students in need. ii) Digital Literacy: Under Avasar's CSR funding they have built computer labs employing 6 teachers to drive digital literacy in rural communities of India iii) Pre-primary Schools: This a pilot initiative where the NGO runs a Play School for children up to 6 years free of cost. iv) Graduate to Employee: Avasar helps children with their transition from graduating college to entering a professional environment. v) Employability Training: Spoken English and job readiness programs provided.
  • Outcome: 34 Computer labs instituted so far impacting 25,000+ students. 500 girls trained under the Foundation's Employability Program and 42 Foundation Scholarship awardees till date.
