Gunvati Jagan Nath Kapoor Foundation (GJK) aims to continue the legacy of its namesake, a compassionate and empathetic woman who strived to alleviate the suffering of others. With a clear mission and the dedication of its employees, the foundation focuses on supporting programs in health care, community empowerment, and education with the intent to improve the standard of living and quality of life for all people, especially women and children. Its main goals are to empower pregnant women and cancer patients and to improve the quality of life within communities.

Major Interventions:

Patient Guidance: This program helps cancer patients access the resources they need while they are undergoing and after their treatment. The goal is to improve patient survivorship by decreasing treatment abandonment rates. GJK also works to enhance the quality of life for patients through education and job placements, and organizes support group meetings and survivorship programs.

Maatrutva Program: It educates pregnant women about health care during pregnancy and encourages them to adopt health-seeking behavior for safe deliveries. The team works closely with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to identify and register women in hospitals. The internal women's team acts as a "Saarthi," or guide, to these women during the important phase of their lives.

Cancer Prevention & Early Detection: The aim is to spread cancer awareness and educate women from underserved areas about the importance of early detection of common cancers in women, such as breast, cervical, and oral cancer. The sessions help women gain knowledge and empower them to make informed choices about their health.

Education Assistance: Through this program, GJK distributes educational materials and various scholarships to students from certain colleges and institutes in Mumbai. The foundation also partners with corporations to provide stationery kits to children.
