Muskan Foundation for People with Multiple disabilities provide children with multiple disabilities and vision impairment with special education and therapy so they can participate in, and be recognised by, their families and communities - realising their own unique abilities in life.

Special Education: A meaningful education enables children with Multiple Disabilities & Vision Impairment (MDVI) to gain independence and participate in family and community activities. A range of special need services focusing on academics and functional skills are provided, individual plans are created focusing on long and short term goals. Children with MDVI learn how to live an independent life, something which comes naturally to normal children.

Muskan’s Multidisciplinary team includes Special Educators, Therapists working in collaboration with Parents. The team assesses each child’s vision, hearing, intellectual capacity, physical and mental capabilities and develops goals for them in each area. The therapies include vision rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational, speech behaviour, sensory integration, etc.

Early Intervention program improves the child’s developmental trajectory thereby focusing on developing the child holistically and enhancing their school readiness skills for the age of 4 to 7 years of children.

The NGO also provides Vocational Trainings to children with disabilities which includes developing skills like making sprouts, sandwiches and salads, soft skills involving communication and socialisation conducive to work in professional environment. It collaborates with other NGOs in order to create awareness about disability and sensitize people towards needs of children with MDVI, the NGO provides Certificate Course Training to parents, NGO workers and paraprofessionals thereby advocating the needs of children of MDVI to healthcare providers and run awareness program in school, colleges, public places and corporates.
