Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN) empowers individuals through retail and allied sectors by fostering pride, respect, inclusion, and development. It strives to be a thought leader and catalyst, building sustainable solutions for social impact while promoting diversity, equity, and gender balance within the workforce. The goal is to transform lives by enabling sustainable livelihoods, particularly for Persons with Disabilities and young women from marginalized backgrounds.
Major Interventions:
TRRAIN Pankh Program: This flagship initiative focuses on creating sustainable livelihoods for Persons with Disabilities. It provides intensive training and skill development to prepare participants for roles across the retail and service industries. The program not only opens access to employment but also enhances confidence, dignity, and financial independence for individuals who often face exclusion. By collaborating with corporate partners and NGOs, TRRAIN Pankh builds pathways to meaningful employment while ensuring participants do not need to migrate, thus allowing them to remain connected with their families and communities.
TRRAINHer Ascent Program: Aimed at young women from marginalized backgrounds, this program promotes gender diversity in the retail workforce. It provides comprehensive training in professional and interpersonal skills, enabling women to secure stable employment. Beyond skilling, the program instills resilience and financial independence, helping participants support their families, pursue further education, and challenge traditional barriers. The initiative empowers women to chart their own paths while addressing workplace inequalities.
Retail Employees’ Day: TRRAIN leads the global celebration of retail associates through Retail Employees’ Day, a unique initiative dedicated to honoring last-mile employees who form the backbone of the retail sector. By recognizing their contributions, the day fosters respect and pride for frontline staff while encouraging companies and customers alike to value their efforts.
Ekam - All Inclusive Summit: Through this summit, TRRAIN convenes thought leaders, policymakers, and businesses to advocate for inclusive workplaces. The platform raises awareness, drives collaboration, and accelerates change toward building an equitable society.
